The shop was founded by Dick Fletcher in 1936 and has had a strong presence in the Commercial Arcade, St Peter Port ever since. In its time, Fletchersports has seen 11 Olympic Games, 12 World Cups, and 21 Ryder Cups come and go. The shop was closed for 5 years during the war and on returning to the shop Dick found the shop empty after being looted by the Germans. Current proprietor Terry Ferbrache has been involved in sports retail for over 30 years and has a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Although Fletchersports has always been located in the commercial arcade although has been located at 3 different premises with the arcade prior to its current location. The business has always been a family run business and was brought by the Ferbrache family in the early 90's. Early in the new millennium the business also made the purchase of it current property and is now a freehold property.
